Fantastic adventure experience for the whole family – we touched a glacier! The four of us, with the youngest being seven, had three days of mountain adventure that we will all remember for the rest of our lives. Our kids were up each morning raring to go and were sleeping soundly each night, with new experiences flooding their dreams. Thank you so much for looking after all our needs and exceeding our vision of a vacation with the family.

Riding in a helicopter was really exciting. I was surprised by how beautiful the top of the mountain was. We spotted a wolverine on the glacier. I was glad that Big Eddy came along. He was big and friendly, and was so happy to be with us there. Lunch tasted great and had a lot of variety. I liked learning how to walk on a glacier. I want to come back next year.

My family of 4 went on a heli hike adventure with Bob in July 2023 and had an amazing day. Bob is a spirited and soulful guy and a fantastic guide who knows everything about the landscape at high altitude. Our daughters were 11 and 13 at the time and had a fantastic day. They still talk about it! If our family is ever back in Revelstoke, we will certainly go Heli- hiking with Bob again. If I could give Google seven stars, I would do it, but they’ll only let me put five!

We are experienced heli skiers and heli hikers and we have found nirvana with Heli Canada Adventures. The staff is interested in us, know us by name, and look after our needs attentively. We LOVE small groups – just mind blowing to see how much fun the staff has – it rubs off on all the guests!

The learning environment our guide constructed made for a very positive experience and adhesive group. I would recommend Heli Canada Adventures for anyone looking to take as much information as possible from their mountaineering course. Small Groups = Big Learning!

August of 2011 we took our twin boys aged 11 for a day long heli-hike with Bob and Big Eddy (Bob’s dog). What an experience! Hiking the alpine at the top of Mt Macpherson overlooking the Columbia Valley and Revelstoke. Highly recommend for couples and families.

What a great way to get a fantastic experience in the top of the Canadian wilderness in all its glory!

Everyone with whom we interacted with at Heli Canada Adventures has been exceptional, professional, optimistic, eager to help—beyond expectations! Our guide was highly experienced, educated, and a great teacher who shared what to expect, and how to properly respect the outdoors, wildlife, habitat, etc.: Bob added humor, conversation, intentionality and, he customized the day to meet our needs regarding rest, desires, challenges, views, etc. The experience was superb – it is tough to improve!

We had a wonderful experience in the backcountry on our Heli-Hiking tour with Bob and Tomo! From the start of the booking process, Bob was very helpful offering all kinds of helpful advice. We are from Florida and so don’t have a lot of options for hiking at home. We are all in good shape and do a lot of hiking vacations. The day hike that Bob and Tomo took us on was very suited to our level. Our kids, ages 10 and 12, had a fabulous time as well! The scenery was breathtaking and it was so novel to hike in pristine wilderness without a trail! It was everything I hoped it would be when I booked the trip! Our kids can’t stop talking about when we can come back for Heli-Skiing!

On our trip to the Revelstoke area last summer we had the rare privilege of going on a private Heli-Hike with Heli Canada Adventures. Our tour guide, Bob Shafto, was THE BEST! Months in advance, we spent time with Bob over the phone going over what to pack, what to expect, and how to prepare for this (hopefully more than) once-in-lifetime adventure. We’re avid hikers and nature buffs and were looking to do something unique and get off the beaten trail – access unspoiled terrain only accessible via helicopter. While it was HOT in Revelstoke (over 90 degrees) on the day of our arrival, at altitude, the weather on the mountain we visited was perfect. We learned how to safely hike through snow drifts, and took a dip in a very cool mountain lake. We never felt unsafe, and that’s because we knew we were in good hands with Bob guiding us every careful step of the way. Our daughters, ages 14 and 15 at the time, loved every minute of it … from the helicopter ride to the hiking, to the swimming, to the return trip. We created beautiful memories as a family and have the epic pics to prove it. It was AWESOME. We highly recommend Heli Canada Adventures, and be sure to request Bob. He is an original. And remember, on your way to Revelstoke, as Bob would say: ‘Drive to Arrive, Friends’!
